April 24, Travel with Toddlers and Preschoolers: Our kids are used to sleeping in their own rooms at home, which works out very well for us. However, when we travel, we are often not blessed with tons of space.

With Georgia in the travel crib, we could stick her in a spare bathroom, a walk-in closet, or even create a private space with a sheet and clothes line or bungee cord. Example of us utilizing the bathroom as a sleeping space with the travel crib. Georgia got to give the cot a try for the first time on our recent road trip through central and eastern Washington.

  • Originally our trip was only going to be to Walla Walla, but at the last minute we added on a 1-night stop at Cave B Inn near the Gorge Amphitheater. Walla Walla was feeling like a long drive just for 2 nights, and since the kids were on spring break, we had some flexibility.

It folds flat and is small enough to pack into most suitcases. What are the different types of travel cot on offer? Thank you very much for your understanding and support of Pint Size Pilot.

We typically try to reserve hotel rooms with some sort of separation suites, bedrooms, adjoining rooms, etc , but with Cave B already being a splurge, we had to get creative with a room with 2-queen beds. Instead of putting the kids together in one bed, Bergen got one of the queens to himself, and Georgia slept on the cot in her own little private corner of the room. Even though it was chilly, Slaed and I retreated to the balcony, enjoyed a glass of wine and the view, and the kids eventually Georgia especially loves chatting, giggling, and singing with her big brother , dozed off into dreamland.

To our delight, Georgia slept so well!

  • She was cozy and comfortable, and loved having a space just for herself. We are grateful to now have this sleeping option, at least during the preschool years.

But families who are always on the go should consider getting a high quality toddler travel bed, even though they will be more expensive. But the best part is that it fits back in the bag, perfectly!
