Gotta love giant retro toys that little one can snooze in. Story fits our cot bed mattresses — go shop your mattress. Always order correct size and ensure it fits perfectly. Always order correct size mattress and ensure it fits perfectly. I love everything about the story cot bed; the vibrant red colour, the matryoshka doll design, the fact it's girlie without being pink. Then there's the practical stuff - I adore the three mattress heights, the extra storage in the under bed drawer, the space saving over cot changing table - three really thoughtful details that make a massive difference.

I'm hoping that by keeping one set of familiar cot bars it will make the change that little bit smoother for us. However, it arrived with some damage that couldn't have come from shipping - someone packed it that way.

  • The reseller I ordered from was less than useless, but when I contacted Cosatto myself their customer service was excellent and I had replacement parts quickly.

Assembly was fairly tough - the manufacturing tolerances seem to be pretty big so I had to do quite a bit of loosening and jiggling to get everything to fit. There are also some paint blobs and glued-together cracks that really shouldn't be there - compared to cheap flat-pack from Ikea and the like, it was surprising.

All in all though, I am happy with it and I'm sure my son will be too. The screws that hold the wheels on the drawer are so tiny that they don't feel sturdy. The method for screwing in the base to side panels is so awkward and fiddly it took ages to do. And the cot top changer sticks out so far on one end that it is actually in the way.

It was getting a bit snug. I love how it has a changer that comes with it and can be detached once my baby is too big for it. It is ultra quick to fold down and packs neatly in its own travel bag which has holes for the wheels so it can be pulled Can be used at home for daytime naps or as a playpen or to chuck all the toys in for quick tidy-ups!

We got it because it looked compact and space saving in our flat but it's actually quite obtrusive having the changer on top. It's great if you have a room big enough that both sides are clear of the wall but we have to have one side of the cot flush against the wall.

  • It looks lovely and we love the colour and design, but the parts for putting it together were most unhelpful! Functional, looks great, my son loves it! We found this cotbed quite easy to set up. It took about an hour.

It is amazing to look at, everyone comments on it. Our son is very comfortable in it. I love the fact the mattress has 3 levels. Makes it easier to keep him in there! Also love that it becomes a junior bed and finally a sofa.

  • We don't need the changer but it's a fab idea, a real space saver. As are the draws underneath. Such a fantastic idea! Not only does it turn into a bed but it can be used as a sofa later on, meaning there will be years of use from it. I love how it has a changer that comes with it and can be detached once my baby is too big for it.

I also love how it has storage underneath and three height settings when used in cot mode. It looks fantastic, really quirky and a standout piece of nursery furniture. Being a lover of anything bright, I knew that the Story cotbed would be perfect for my newborns bedroom and the new Owlet design matched perfectly with the owl theme we had been using. The cotbed, albeit a little hard to attach the base as the allen key struggled to fit in the small slots underneath, when eventually put together looked absolutely beautiful and stood out from the crowd in the design stakes.

A great, space saving item as not only is it a cotbed but it comes with a cot-top changer and an under-cot drawer. The drawer is large enough to fit all my sons spare nappies, wipes and blankets and makes change times easier as the changer is high up meaning no bending down. I love how the cot will last the year as it changes from a cotbed, to a junior bed and then to a sofa so I know that it will be a focal point in my sons bedroom throughout his growing life.

However, the final product looks lovely, should last a long time and will be well loved. The quality is amazing, I love the drawer always need more storage in our house , and the colour really stands out in my sons nursery. You definitely get what you pay and I highly recommend this product.
